Email marketing wasn't a fully formed idea in any of our founders' minds when Paul and Nick first met. Mutual friends had organized a canoe trip down the Orange River at the start of the millennium.

As they made their way up the beach from Cape Town to Namibia, Paul rescued them from a fate of being stranded by changing drive shafts and tires on more than one occasion.

When they weren't getting stuck in the sand, pulling mussels from the sea, falling out of canoes, shooting the rapids and camping under the African sky, they got to talking about the Internet. At the time, Paul was working on a startup CMS and Nick was completing an exit of allhotels.com. After all adventures they’d stayed in touch and continued sharing ideas about what was to become GraphicMail.

Back in Cape Town, Paul met Ernie. Ernie was working for Dockside, an ISP Paul had started years before. Together they morphed the CMS into an email marketing service.

Where we are today

Paul is our CEO and runs things at our office at the foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town. Our teams of marketers, designers, networkers, technical support, administrative and sales staff work hard to keep our service in tip-top shape at our offices Cape Town, Miami and Seattle. Business development and commercial/financial direction is run out of our Geneva office within view of Mont Blanc. Our developers sit at one of our two offices either amidst the world-famous vineyards of Stellenbosch or in Islamabad.

We have dedicated support teams in 17 different countries. GraphicMail is supported in 10 languages. Just like our founders - who alone represent 3 continents - we are a global bunch; making our email, mobile and social marketing tools accessible everywhere!
